Rivets & Recipes™

I have loved to cook since I wasn’t even tall enough to reach the stove. Almost 10 years ago I created the Offshore Chef when I was using the small galley of a boat to create meals. While I’ve run aground and now find myself wandering around ashore, the same #CookSmall philosophies apply. So let’s get cooking inside and out!

Parmesan Pesto SaucePesto is so multi-versatile and not one has to goto waste. I love to use my Parmesan Pesto as a spread on my Bell Family Fried Tomato Sandwich and in my ground beef mix for burgers. It's great with or without the garlic and pine nuts!
I’ve RUM Ashore & I Can’t Get Up! Iced CoffeeIt’s Sunday morning during the Summer. No ordinary iced coffee will do, especially if you happen to be glamping in Aolani at the shore. The following is a rum iced coffee recipe that you can share (but you won’t want to;) The substitution of coconut cream RUM in place of the traditional amount of cold foamed milk is a big thumbs up:)
The Original “Some More”As far as experts can tell, the first official recipe for a s’more was released in the 1927 Girl Scout guidebook, "Tramping and Trailing with the Girl Scouts." Hope you enjoy this original. We've obviously come a long way with with s'more unique creations. I will posting the history of the S'more soon!
Shrimp Ernie – A Duncan Hines Favorite Recipe (From Ye College Inn in Houston, Texas)In the 1950's, Duncan Hines was considered one of "the Nation's Foremost" Authorities "on Good Food." I've set out to transcribe and recreate many of his favorites recipes from the road. In most cases, the origin of these recipes no longer exist. This recipe is courtesy of The Art of Grilling, Baking, Barbequeing, a Duncan Hines Cookbook from 1952.
Firecracker Grilled Shrimp TacosMy goto, on the road grilling recipe for the entire family. When Airstreaming on the East Coast, there's no shortage of wild-caught, fresh shrimp, making this a great outdoor recipe from start to finish.
