Destination NJ Shore Jersey Collective 2018

Aww Shucks, I’m Finally Heading Eastward on Day 5 of Jen’s Jersey Road Tour

On the Way to Cape May!

Aww Shucks! So it’s finally Friday! I’m on my way to Cape May, trying to outrun a Nor’easter and I got hungry. So where does one find good food out in the middle of nowhere on Route 47 South? Enter the oyster cracker, the cafe.

Homemade Oyster chowder? Check! Hand-cut Old Bay fries? OMG YES! The Oyster Cracker Cafe sits on the dock in historic Port Norris, NJ at the Bayshore Center at Bivalve. This must visit destination is well off the beaten path but isn’t that where all the greatest pearls are found? ⠀

Whether you are on your way to the Jersey Shore or coming home, take that turn to Bivalve (with the next two weeks being an extra special treat as your route will be painted in the colors of Fall). Be sure to visit the adjoining museum, book a sailing date with the tall ship, the AJ Meerwald and witness firsthand a day in the life of a working fishing town.

Eastward…New Jersey!⠀

Finally arrived at the end of the line, Exit 0. No Nor’easter would stop me from visiting West Cape May and a few of my favorite places and businesses. ⠀

If you’re driving (or floating) around the Cape this weekend you must pay a visit to the the West End Garage home to two shops by Eastward NJ. Becky and I share a love for vintage Airstreams, Muppets and amazing coffee table books and kitchenware.⠀

You can get lost in this shop so don’t forget your compass;) Although you might just find one there amongst the vintage treasures. And before you check out, be sure to save a few bucks for the adjoining Beach Plum Farm Bakery & Cafe for some yummy treats. You won’t be disappointed!
